Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan to team up for 'Italian Job' remake

Abbas-Mastan have finalized Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Neil Nitin Mukesh to headline their much anticipated remake of Hollywood's Italian Job (2003).
The director duo confirmed the attachment of the three stars for the film for which they have acquired rights from Paramount Pictures. The 2003 film was in turn a remake of the similarly named 1969 British film.

The trio will reprise the roles played by Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton and Charlize Theron.

Back in July, it was reported that Saif Ali Khan will feature alongside Neil, but obviously that has changed now.

The film is about a team of thieves who plan to steal gold bullion from a former associate who double crossed them. The film shows the thieves pull off the flawless heist by creating Los Angeles largest traffic jam ever by tapping into the city's traffic control system.

The rest of the cast and crew for the Studio 18 production is yet to be finalized.

Abbas Mastan say they got this project because Studio 18 was impressed with their action sequences in Race (2008), starring Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif and Bipasha Basu. The film will be seriously revamped and Indianized but retain its cult mode.

"Our producers are willing to go all out. No expenses will be spared to make sure our The Italian Job is as good as the original," said Abbas-Mastan.

Katrina Kaif offered 2 crores for dancing New Years Eve 2010

The star's price was Rs 1 crore to in 2009 but due to the 26/11 terrorist attacks, all December 31 shows were cancelled. As a result, she could not stage her act. Before this in 2007 Mallika Sherawat paid with 50 lacs and next year in 2008 the hot Bollywood acctress Bipasha Basu paid by 90 lacs for their performance for new year's eve. Though everyone concerned is tightlipped, it is learnt that Kat has been paid a bigger whopper to bring in 2010 - almost Rs 2 crore!

A source said that last year, the celebrations were put off due to the somber mood in the city after 26/11. This New Year's Eve, however, plans are on to make Katrina's event a grand affair. The 25 year old celebrity has agreed to get jiggy but obviously for a higher price to match her present position in Bollywood.

The actress is guarded about her New Year's Eve show. Katrina said that nothing's confirmed about December 31 yet. But the source maintains that the hotel is already making arrangements for her live act. They are touting it as a very exclusive show and their biggest draw for the December 31 night. Last year, Rocky S had been roped in to style her and Bosco-Ceasar for the choreography.

Priyanka and Katrina Kaif fighting for youth icon award

The famous Bollywood's ladies Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif now set to battle it out to be Indian youth icon for fans and this generation.
The two actresses, along with actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and superstar Hrithik Roshan, have been nominated in the entertainment category for the Videocon India Youth Icon Awards.

Versatile actor Rahul Bose has also been nominated for the youth icon award, but for his contribution towards social justice and welfare. Rahul is the founder of the NGO, The Foundation, which works for various issues like education and child abuse.

Conceptualised by Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt Ltd. in association with media partner Sahara India Media, the awards will be a platform to honour young individuals for their extraordinary contribution to society. It will be sponsored by Videocon.

Awards will be presented to people in categories like sports, technology, media, the arts, private entrepreneurship and politics apart from entertainment and social justice and welfare.

The nominations have been decided by a panel of experts including journalist Paranjoy Guha Thakurta, filmmaker Shyam Benegal, tennis ace Leander Paes, renowned cardiologist Naresh Trehan, actor and social activist Shabana Azmi, singer Usha Uthup and Venugopal Dhoot, chairman of Videocon Industries Limited.

The winners will now be chosen through online voting and the awards will be distributed September 25.

Katrina Kaif signed as brand ambassador for Olay Oil

It's the endorsement deals in Katrina Kaif's kitty. The actress who is currently ruling the roost in Bollywood has been signed as the brand ambassador of international cosmetic giant Oil of Olay that launched the newly formulated White Radiance range in India.A source close to Kats adds, "Katrina is a youth icon of today. The international brand found Kats to be the apt model to market their product."

This year, Katrina has been the top choice for endorsing brands. Only recently she was chosen by leading jewelry brand Nakshatra as their brand ambassador and now she has bagged yet another plum endorsement deal with Oil of Olay. The future certainly looks bright for gorgeous Katrina.
